Eddie Rodick

Biography

The Eddie Rodick Orchestra is one of the groups to make it’s appearance in the Ohio polka scene. Since 1973, the Orchestra has made a steady climb in popularity. Eddie Rodick is becoming one of the areas top accordionists. His orchestra specializes in Cleveland and Slovenian Style polkas and waltzes. Eddie Rodick started with Don and Dan Wojtila as band members.  In the 1980’s Eddie organize a brand new band with Frank Yasnowski, Rick Papaleo, (replaced by Ron Sluga) Phil Srnick and Eddie’s son Eddie Rodick III. Eddie cut a couple records for Delta, Peppermint and WRS Records. Rodick recorded great polkas as Hammer Key Polka, Sharpey’s Polka and Slap Happy Polka. He wrote and arranged with the Wojtila Brothers great polkas as Little Eddie’s Polka, Good Time Polka, Country Box Polka, Recher Hall Polka and We Love Polka Music. Eddie recorded in the 2000s more albums including Polka Sweetheart, which was voted the 2007 Recording Of The Year. Eddie’s band was named Band Of The Year in 1990, 2002, 2007 and 2008.

The Eddie Rodick Orchestra is één van de groepen met optredens in de Ohio polka scene. Sinds 1973 maakt het Orkest een klim in populariteit. Eddie Rodick werd een top accordeonist uit de regio Zijn orkest is gespecialiseerd in Cleveland en Slovenian style polka’s en walsen. Eddie Rodick is ooit begonnen met Don en Dan Wojtila als bandleden. In de jaren 80 begon Eddie een gloednieuwe band met Frank Yasnowski, Rick Papaleo, (vervangen door Ron Sluga) Srnick Phil en Eddie's zoon Eddie Rodick III. Eddie maakte een aantal platen voor Delta, Peppermint en WRS Records. Rodick nam daar prachtige polka’s op, o.a. Hammer Key Polka, Sharpey Polka's en de Slap Happy Polka. Hij schreef en arrangeerde met de Wojtila Brothers een aantal zeer bekende Polkas zoals Little Eddie's Polka, Good Time Polka, Country Box Polka, Recher Hall Polka en We Love Polka Music. Eddie nam in deze eeuw nog meer albums op waaronder Polka Sweetheart, die werd gekozen in 2007 als beste opname opname van het jaar. Eddie's band was de Band van het Jaar in 1990, 2002, 2007 en 2008.
