Elroy Benz began playing drums at the age of 12 and then changed to the piano accordion. Elroy Benz and the band are to bring the smooth, easy sound of the Wisconsin Style polkas. Elroy Benz and his River Bend Playboys were a popular favorite in the Cedarburg and Milwaukee areas for many years. The Elroy Benz sound is reminiscent of the old Norbie Baker Orchestra, and yet retains its own distinctive style. Norbie Baker fans will appreciate the Elroy Benz treatment of an all-time great hit “The Midwest Polka”. Partially responsible for the unique Elroy Benz sound are the solovox instruments used by the band. The Solovoxes creating a warm and distinct organ tone. Up to three of them are used on the recordings.

Elroy Benz begon op de drums te spelen toen hij 12 jaar oud was. Vervolgens stapte hij over naar het piano accordeon. Elroy Benz en de band brengen vlotte en gemakkelijk in het gehoor liggende Wisconsin style polka’s. Elroy Benz en zijn River Bend Playboys waren vele jaren een populaire favoriete groep in de omgeving van Cedarburg en Milwaukee. Het Elroy Benz geluid doet denken aan het goeie oude Norbie Baker Orkest. Toch behoudt het zijn eigen kenmerkende stijl. Norbie Baker fans zullen de Elroy Benz uitvoering van een all-time great hit "The Midwest Polka" zeker waarderen. Gedeeltelijk verantwoordelijk voor die unieke sound van Elroy Benz zijn de Solovox instrumenten die worden gebruikt in de band. De Solovox instrumenten creëren een warme en aparte orgel toon. Er werden drie Solovoxes gebruikt tijdens de opnamen.
