
Stan Blout
Biography
Originally from Masontown, Pennsylvania, Stan was famous in Cleveland with his Orchestra playing in the Slovenian style of polkas and waltzes for their dancing and listening audiences. Over the years many people have asked, where is Stan Blout? In 1977, Stan and his wife moved with their three children to Southern California due to an employment opportunity. For 35 years, Stan was away from the Polka scene. It certainly is a Blout time since the Stan Blout Band recorded Polka Sounds of the 70's. Stan Blout and his Orchestra are back with a new album (2005) that includes 17 tunes, some original compositions and some paying tribute to Stan's boyhood idols Johnny Pecon, Eddie Habat, Johnny Vadnal, Joe Fedorchak & Joe Luzar. It’s A Blout Time offers 8 originals featuring My Grandsons Polka, Eddies Polka & Nikke’s Waltz. Featured on the 2005 recording are three of the original band members that recorded Polka Sounds of the 70's more than 30 years ago. Stan Blout on accordion and keyboards, Jack Tankovich on sax, clarinet & vocals, and Dennis Marold on bass & vocals. Also featured on the recording is Dave Wolnik on drums, Eddie Rodick III on banjo & guitar, and Ralph Dellagatti Jr. on piano.
